Calm Down

Young children have many intense feelings every day. Teachers who can distinguish between a tantrum (defiance) and a meltdown (lack of emotional self-control), and adjust their interactions with children accordingly, will have fewer class disruptions during the day. Calm Down teaches the difference between a tantrum and a meltdown so caregiver can respond effectively, identifies teaching strategies to teach calm down skills, identifies strategies to support children’s emotional self-control in the classroom, and provides tips for talking with parents.
